"Where are you from?" I hear that question and ask that question every day. Today I am traveling to Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial with a group of 15 Girl Scouts from Austin, Texas. Dachau was the site of the first concentration camp. Dachau is also a village of about 40,000 people right now. Imagine how the people of Dachau must feel when someone asks them where they come from. They have to say, "Dachau," knowing that people all over the world will associate it with Nazi atrocities. I will gain more than just facts from this trip; I will also gain new perspectives.
